At 0252 hours on Monday January 4th, Company 11 (Spelter VFD), Engines 101 (Shinnston VFD), 41 (Lumberport VFD), and 71 were alerted for a Structure Fire on 4th Street in Spelter. Engine 71 (w/6-Chief Haddix) hit the streets within 2 minutes. Spelter Engines 112 and 111 arrived on the scene to find a single-story dwelling fully involved and began a defensive attack placing (2) 1 3/4" cross lays in service. Engine 102 arrived next and laid into a hydrant nearby and hooked into E112. Engine 71 arrived on the scene as 4th due engine and sent its manpower to the scene to assist with fire extinguishment mainly working on the Delta and Charlie sides. Crews operated on scene for just under an hour before before released by Command 11. Chief 11 (Dunn) held command with Marion Engine 143 (Worthington VFD) transferring to Co. 11.

Just after returning to station after the fire, at 0435 hours, Companies 7, 12 (Stonewood VFD), and Ambulance 19 (Anmoore EMS) were alerted for a Vehicle Accident w/Injuries and Entrapment on I079 SB at the 116 MM in Quiet Dell.
