At 1027 hours on Tuesday March 5th, Companies 7, 12 (Stonewood VFD), and Ambulance 19 (Anmoore EMS) were alerted for a Vehicle Accident with Injuries on Buckhannon Pike near Center Branch. Squad 7 staffed with 4 personnel responded in just over 2 minutes with Unit 75 staffed with 2 personnel shortly after. Squad 7 arrived on scene to find a 2-vehicle accident with one vehicle on its side in the ditch off the roadway upgrading the assignment to confirmed entrapment in the vehicle on its side. Crews quickly stabilized the vehicle using the Rescue 42 Struts and placed the Hurst Tools in service to flap the roof and remove the windshield. Squad 7 also placed one firefighter inside the vehicle to provide patient care. Extrication time was 13 minutes. Stonewood Unit 125 was also on scene. 1 ALS patient was packaged and loaded for transport to UHC by Anmoore Medic 15. The driver of the other vehicle refused treatment and transport. Crews returned home just after 1130 hours.
