Engine 72 responded with 5 personnel within 1 minute. Spelter Engine 112 had a column of smoke visible from their station and arrived on scene with a Working Fire to find a 100’x50’ garage fully involved placing the deck gun and 2 hand lines in service. Ladder 521 (Bridgeport FD) was then added to the assignment as well as Tankers 7 and 3 (Lost Creek VFD) for additional water. Engine 72 arrived on scene as 4th due and assisted with fire suppression manning a 1 3/4” cross lay to assist with a defensive attack and protect exposures in the rear consisting of large commercial grade fuel tanks and storage containers as well as ensuring an adequate water supply was in place. Ladder 101 set up for aerial master stream operations on the Alpha side with Engine 41 laying in from the hydrant on Shinnston Pike and Engine 111 setting up a dump tank for drafting as an additional water supply. Bridgeport Ladder 521 set up in an adjacent lot to position on the Delta side. Early in the incident, the hydrant units were using failed and additional tankers from Marion County were alerted to supplement Tankers 11, 7, and 3 including 103 (Monongah VFD), 14 (Worthington VFD), and 1 (Barrackville VFD) were alerted. Engine 72 then set up an additional drafting operation. The fire was placed under control in approx. 2 hours. After a lengthy clean up and overhaul, crews returned home by 2045 hours. WVDEP, HCES, HCSD, and Hepzibah PSD were on scene with Reynoldsville VFD Engine 81 transferring to Co. 11 for the duration of the incident. Approximately 250,000 gallons of water was used to contain the fire. Co. 7 operated 7 personnel on scene.
