At 0500 hours on Monday April 12th, Company 1 (Anmoore VFD/EMS), Engines 511 (Bridgeport FD), 71, and 121 (Stonewood VFD) were alerted for a Structure Fire on Ash Street in Anmoore. Engine 72 responded with 4 personnel in 3 minutes. Engine 11 arrived on scene with a Working Fire to find a single-story modular home with fire showing and all occupants out. Crews placed a 1 3/4” cross lay in service and began an interior attack. Engine 72 arrived on scene as 3rd due engine and sent its manpower to assist interior crews with a 2nd handline and provided water to units on scene due to hydrant issues. Engine 123 arrived 4th due and laid approx. 800’ of 4” LDH from another hydrant to establish a water supply. Crews found fire running the entire attic space as well as the interior and exterior of the dwelling. The well advanced fire mixed with new construction and deteriorating structure conditions forced crews exterior for a short time due to most of the roof collapsing. The deck gun off of 511 and another hand line were then placed in service for a defensive attack before once again transitioning back into the interior to finish extinguishing the fire. After a lengthy overhaul and clean up, crews returned home just before 0930 hours. Anmoore Medic 18 was on scene for standby with no injuries reported. As per our SOPs, all PPE, SCBA’s, and hand tools were grossly deconned before leaving the scene. Some photos courtesy of Co. 1.
