At 2040 hours on Thursday November 11th, Company 1 (Anmoore VFD), Engines 71, 121 (Stonewood VFD), and 111 (Spelter VFD) were alerted for a Structure Fire on Frosty Lane in East View. Engine 72 staffed with 5 personnel responded in 3 minutes. Engine 12 arrived on scene with a Working Fire to find a single-wide trailer heavily involved. All occupants were determined to be out of the structure. Engine 72 arrived on scene 2nd due shortly after Engine 12 and placed a 1 3/4” cross lay in service making entry to initiate an interior attack finding heavy fire conditions throughout and the bottom of the trailer on fire as well. Engine 121 arrived 3rd and placed a 2nd 1 3/4” cross lay in service to assist with fire suppression. Engines 112 and 123 assisted with water supply and provided additional manpower. After overhaul and clean up, units returned home just after 2230 hours. Anmoore EMS was on scene for standby with no injuries reported.
While units operated on this, Tanker 7 with 2 personnel were already on scene of a Working Structure Fire that ignited large Brush Fire of approx. 20-25 acres on White Lane in Good Hope near the Harrison/Lewis County line. Tanker 7 supplied 8 loads of water to units on scene while crews from Harrison, Lewis, and multiple other surrounding agencies operated on scene for hours to bring the fire under control. Units also responded to assist Salem and Anmoore VFDs with working brush fires earlier in the day as well.
