At 1624 hours on Friday May 20th, Engine 71 was added to the BOX assignment for a Working Structure Fire on Oak Street in Good Hope to assist West Milford, Lost Creek, and Jane Lew VFDs. Engine 51 (Mt. Clare VFD) was also added to the call as well. In a rare circumstance, Engine 112 from Spelter VFD was at Co. 7 to travel to the WV Strawberry Festival Fireman’s Parade in Buckhannon with Truck 7 with a crew of 5 members. Engine 71 staffed with 7 personnel, 3 from Co. 7 and 4 from Co. 11 responded in under 2 minutes. Engines 31 and 151 arrived on scene with a Working Fire to find a 2-stall detached garage fully Involved with a single-story dwelling also involved. Engine 151 hit the hydrant for water supply and crews placed (2) 1 3/4” cross lays in service. Engine 71 arrived on scene as 3rd due engine and provided manpower for an aggressive interior attack finding heavy fire throughout the home and running the attic space. The fire was placed under control within an and after extensive overhaul and clean up, 71 returned home at 1859 hours. Anmoore EMS was on scene for standby with no injuries reported even with the 90 degree heat.
