This Sunday February 1st, marked one year since our brother and beloved friend Firefighter/EMT-Intermediate Michael "Mikey" Garrett died tragically in the line of duty while rescuing a trapped worker from a cell phone tower collapse.
Nutter Fort Fire Department ended 2014 with a total of 873 calls with 0 failed responses. Some highlights include 24 working structure fires and 2 extrications. Stay tuned for our 2014 year end review video to be released within the next few days.
This morning members of the Sophia City VFD located in Raleigh County, just outside of Beckley, came by to pick up their "new" squad truck. Unit 76 served the department well over the past 8 years and will continue to serve the citizens of its new department.
